Transfer Station

The Municipality of Clare operates a transfer station at 919 Bonnie Road in Meteghan. Telephone : 902-645-2993 or 902-769-8167.

The station is open from Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Note : Garbage must be separated from construction and demolition debris before it is taken to the Transfer Station.

Electronics Recycling

Effective June 1, 2024, electronics can be recycled through the Electronic Products Recycling Association (EPRA). Electronics can be recycled at multiple locations through the EPRA.

Commercial Waste Collection

The Municipality of Clare wishes to inform establishments that make use of free commercial curbside waste collection services of the following:

  • A maximum of three bundles of cardboard are permitted to be placed curbside for collection. They must be bundled, flattened and securely tied.
  • Each commercial establishment is permitted to leave out a maximum of 10 blue(recycling) and clear (garbage) bags combined.
  • Manufacturing waste products such as fish bones, fish or animal carcasses, skins, plastic or Styrofoam packaging boxes, etc., shall not be collected from commercial premises.
  • Compost bins must be placed curbside ONLY. Compost will not be picked up at any other location on the commercial property
